In 2019 Natural Cambridgeshire launched its ambition to Double Nature across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to deliver a greatly enhanced environment where nature and people thrive and businesses prosper.  That ambition has now been taken up as a policy objective by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and has the support of the local authorities across the area.

The Environmental Audit Committee in its report published on 30 June 2021 found that existing Government policy and targets are inadequate to address plummeting biodiversity loss.
