Matthew Bullock was Master of St Edmund’s College, Cambridge 2014 -2019, and read History at Cambridge.  In a long banking career, he was heavily involved in financing of technology companies in the first stages of the Cambridge Phenomenon, before becoming a General Manager of Barclays Bank, a Managing Director of an investment bank and CEO of a building society. He also became chairman of a life sciences equipment company and of an English language school. He was also a member of several governmental Advisory Boards. He was a founding member of Cambridge University’s Judge Business School and the Centre for Business Research and a member of the University’s Audit Committee.  He also served as a Non-Exec and Chairman of the Audit Committee of Addenbrooke’s Hospital.  He was a founding Director of Cambridge Ahead and a Commissioner of the Cambridge and Peterborough Independent Economic Commission. In 2020 he was a founder of the Cambridge Nature Network and in 2021 a founder of the Fenland Soils Committee of the Cambridge and Peterborough Independent Commission on Climate.
