Local Nature Recovery Strategy for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough – Public Consultation Live!

The draft Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS) for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough is now open for public consultation. We are calling on residents, organisations, and stakeholders to help shape a more resilient future for nature in the area.

The LNRS is a new legal requirement under the Environment Act 2021. It is our roadmap to creating a wildlife-rich, resilient, productive and sustainable landscape, for people and nature.

The strategy describes our most precious habitats, animals and plants in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. Our plan is to make these places bigger, better managed and more joined up to promote nature recovery.

The strategy also sets out actions to take for nature recovery. It also highlights places that we believe have the best opportunity to achieve this.

An interactive online habitat map and a series of story maps are available to help people explore the strategy and understand its priorities. The consultation website also hosts the full draft strategy, a summary document, and supporting materials.

Now is the time to act — together.

📍 Consultation Period:
18 July – 11 September 2025
